Complimentary Veterinary Nurse Clinics
Our fully qualified and experienced Veterinary Nurses offer
a number of complimentary clinics to advise pet owners on
the following areas of preventative healthcare.
Please ask any member of staff how to book an appointment
with one of our nurses.
Weight and dietary advice
Extra
weight may have an adverse affect the health of all our pets.
Our nurses can advise you about the optimum weight your pet
should be and how to help them lose "those extra pounds".
Our nurses are here to help and encourage you every step of
the way.
As well as helping with weight loss, there are also specific
diets to help manage medical conditions and age related problems.
Our nurses will help to advise you about the best diet for
your pet for each period of their life.
Maintaining healthy teeth and gums
Dental
hygiene not only makes our pets more pleasant to live with,
it has a positive effect on their health. Our nurses can advise
you how to care for your pet's teeth through brushing, food
supplements, and toys etc and advise you when veterinary help
is needed.
It is advisable to have your
pet's teeth examined every 6 months to check for signs of
discomfort, tartar and gingivitis.
Flea and worming treatments
Our nurses will administer flea prevention treatment and
worming tablets for pets that might object to being handled.
They will also advise you how and when to worm them, how to
prevent parasites and explain why it is so necessary to follow
these regimes.
Behaviour
There are many times when we worry about the way our pet behaves,
for example, meeting other animals, Bonfire Night, toilet
training, aggression, chewing, etc. Our nurses can usually
advise you how to deal with these problems and can certainly
refer you to the appropriate specialists if the problem persists.
Over - 8's (Senior's)
This clinic is designed for pets over the age of 8 years.
As our pets get older, their bodies stop working as well as
they used to. Early and regular check-ups with us can help
ensure that any problems are detected sooner and treated more
effectively. In many cases modern medicine and techniques
can often manage age-related illnesses and ensure your pet
has a longer, healthier and happier life. Timing is crucial
as symptoms of age related illness often come on slowly and
are easily missed. When visible symptoms do show, it is often
unnecessarily late. One of our nurses will carry out a health
check which will include:
- Eyes
- Ears
- Teeth and gums
- Mobility issues
- Urination problems
- Diet concerns/changes
- Exercise intolerance
- Behavioural changes
